I am so happy to share this engagement session with you all today. Kareem and Jermaine are actually getting married this weekend, so it makes it even more exciting! These two met a short while ago but they knew they were meant for each other. They didn’t want to waste anymore time, not being together for the the rest of their lives!
The lakeshore at Port Credit was the perfect spot for their session as they love the outdoors and water. Nature and love was all around us!
A Little More About Kareem & Jermaine
How did you meet? And how long have you been together?
We met on Facebook and have been together for 5 months. I got a message in my inbox, he mentioned that a friend recommended him to my business and that he was on a hunt to find someone who could cook authentic Jamaican food. We discussed menu options and he became a loyal customer. During that time he never asked any inappropriate questions or showed any interest in me what’s so ever. The closest we came to flirting was when he asked why I was not married and that all the food I make shouldn’t have to go to waste.
A year rolled by and then another; Christmas came and all my family member canceled last minute on our holiday rituals. I went browsing through my phone to see who I could invite to indulge in a friendly and delightful conversation, a person I know who marvelled over my food. I texted Jermaine and asked if he would like to join my kids and I at Christmas dinner? Unfortunately he had already made other plans, after all, I only asked him 2 days before Christmas.
He promised to make it up to me, of course I did not take him seriously.. I was like “sure”, I’ll wait. Boxing day came and he sent me a text, asked if I wanted to get a drink sometime? “Oooookay”, I said and we made arrangements for our first date.
Where was your first date? What did you do?
We went on our 1st date December 27th at Moxie’s to eat and chat.
Was it love at first sight?
It wasn’t love at first sight but more like love at first touch – During our first date we mostly talked. Before that night I never saw beyond his external. I was surprised by his intelligence and insights. He was so into my future plans and wanted to know where I saw myself with the guy I was with at the time. Never had I met a man so intrigued by my goals in life with another man. With all that took place on our date I still had no interest in him beyond friendship/customer. We spoke for hours after our date he kept his hands to himself then the Good Lord took his hands and stretched towards mine, his hands was so soft, yet so masculine. He held my hand so gently and at the same time I felt protected. At that moment my spirit became relaxed, we sat in the car until 1am in the morning. We spoke about everything and nothing all night and with his hands caressing mine; it felt as though warm rain droplets was pouring on my soul. From then on all others became obsolete and I knew!
What are your favourite things to do together?
We like to tag each other with social media jokes, videos and memes.
Do you have a lot of things in common or do you have things that you can’t agree on but poke fun about? We are both family oriented and love to be in love. We cannot agree on how we spend money.
